QATAR AIRWAYS SILVER LOUNGE DOHA - QATAR AIRWAYS BUSIINESS LOUNGE DOHA SILVER LOUNGE
Qatar Airways have several levels of Business Lounges available to Business Class passengers that are flying with Qatar Airways with a dedicated separate dedicated terminal at Doha that is exclusively for Business and First Class passengers. If you join the Qatar Airways frequent flyer club "Privilege Club" you will gain access to either the Silver Lounge or the Oryx Lounge at Doha International Airport.
Perhaps having flown from Malaysia where the Airport is ultra modern, clinically clean and Malaysia Airlines Golden Lounge offers really comfortable couches and armchairs expectations may have been a little high landing at Doha ready to enjoy the world of privilege extended to a "Silver" member of the Qatar Airways frequent flyer Club. After a short bus ride to the terminal and 30 minutes clearing security, situated above the Duty Free Shopping is the Qatar Airways Silver Lounge, this oasis of tranquility (not) has what can only be described as the most uncomfortable seating ever seen in an Airline Lounge, in fact Monarch the UK budget carrier puts the Doha Silver Lounge to shame.
The Silver Lounge is now split between two Lounges, the one I visited used to be the Gold Lounge, so it was a shock to find the bathroom & showering facilities where in a right state with mould, mildew and fungus all on display. I wonder what the old Silver Lounge was like? (I dread to think)

SILVER LOUNGE DOHA
After taking 3 return flights with Qatar Airways in 2011 I was awarded with SILVER Membership of "Privilege Club" and this allowed access to its Silver Lounge at Doha International Airport.
This page explains what "the World of privilege" is like when you gain access to the Qatar Airways Silver Lounge at Doha International Airport.
Privilege Club is our way of saying thank you for choosing to fly with Qatar Airways. As a member, you will enjoy a range of exclusive privileges and benefits designed to make traveling with us even more rewarding. Enjoy the Silver Lounge in Doha and Business Class lounges at select airports regardless of your class of travel.
WOW SOUNDS GREAT!
Wait until you get handed a ragged old frayed towel in the Silver Lounge you feel really rewarded! And then subjected to taking a shower in a filthy bathroom not fit for animals.
To show just how much Qatar Airways appreciate your loyalty, the coffee machine is broken, only one of the two dispensers works! The one that is broken had a piece of selotape across the hole where you insert your Nespresso capsule and the arm that dispenses milk has tissue stuffed in the end as it must be broken. The box that houses the Nespresso capsules fell apart when you opened it and had coffee stains.
Simply cannot understand how Qatar Airways can allow such appalling service to members of its loyalty program, for the sake of 10'000 the silver lounge could have four or five big comfy sofas, some music, new towels, a new coffee machine, some armchairs, some newspapers and magazines, and why is there no food? No coffee? It is unbelievable that next door in the Oryx lounge that is now FREE to Gold members it is a different world, with a lovely clean shower, with shower gel and nice fluffy towels and available to use for 30 regardless of what airline you are flying with.
Very Very disappointed with the Qatar Airways Silver Lounge at Doha.
After asking the Lady at reception how the coffee machine works, she called someone else and they then turned it on. I said "will I have to wait for the water to heat up?" and nobody knew there was just a few shrugs of the shoulders and blank looks.
After having a shower that left me feeling dirtier than when I went in, and faced with a coffee from a dodgy looking machine I decided to cut my losses and head for Costa Coffee instead, 45 dirum for a large cafe latte and a toasted ciabatta sandwich in a comfy chair, I wonder if Costa Coffee have a loyalty program?
After finding a plug socket on one of the posts behind Costa coffee I watched the planes landing and taking off before heading for the gate to catch my next flight, I passed the silver lounge and laughed at the depressed looking people sat there.
Mr Al Baker if your reading this why not get the shower sorted out with a wooden stand so that you do not have to stand on the moldy floor, a new shiny shower head only costs 30 and while you are at it why not buy some new towels! And why not have coffee and croissants or biscuits available from 3am to 6am rather than nothing?
I will not be flying with Qatar Airways again and will be using Emirates in future.
Qatar Airways Silver Lounge Doha - 0/10 Value for money - Emirates is cheaper and better!
Cleanliness of Silver Lounge Doha - Filthy dirty.

SILVER LOUNGE DOHA - The Airline Lounge with no food & a broken coffee machine! Thanks Qatar Airways.
The Lady on the Silver Lounge reception that was too busy on the computer even to manage a good morning Sir appeared to be fed up and clearly not enjoying her job.
I pointed out that the shower was filthy, after 10 minutes she popped over to say that the shower was now ready. A ragged, frayed nasty towel had been left on the bench outside of the shower along with a razor, toothpaste etc, the towel was only fit for the bin! How old must that towel have been? Still in the bathroom a chap was busy cleaning the shower using some pink spray and a 1.5 liter bottle of mineral water that he kept filling up from the sink and spraying (as best he could) all over the shower.
I have never felt so disgusted that after being a loyal customer for a whole year and taking three return long haul flights to the far east, my reward for loyalty was an old ragged towel and a moldy shower.
After leaving Kuala Lumpur, having had a 3 hour delay and feeling dirty after a seven and a half hour flight, a shower with a nice clean towel, a cup of coffee and perhaps a sandwich or something is not too much to ask is it? Well apparently the so called "5 Star Airline" thinks otherwise, unless you are spending £3'000 on a Business Class ticket or stratospheric money flying first class and being whisked to a separate terminal with jacuzzi's champagne caviar and massages then forget about being a loyal customer to Qatar Airways as they obviously do not give a shit.

SILVER LOUNGE DOHA - Mould on shower in the Silver Lounge Gentlemans restroom - DISGUSTING!!!!!
After sitting in the lounge for 2 hours, there was no light music in the background just laughter from the kitchen area, there was no food, only a fridge with airline size cans of fizzy pop! A decrepit coffee machine that was filthy dirty and as inviting as the bathroom. The coffee machine was not even plugged in and was broken on one side and to add to the ambiance had a dirty tissue blocking the arm that is used to froth your milk as it was broken.
Fair enough, Doha airport is undergoing total re-development and understandably they do not want to spend any money on a Lounge that is probably going to be knocked down, but why not buy some decent towels and get the bathroom re-grouted in the interim? The bathroom is absolutely disgusting and can only be described as a health hazard, with hairs, mould and filth everywhere.
I would love to see Mr Al Baker take a shower in that flea pit! (well not literally)
SILVER LOUNGE DOHA - CANNOT BELEIVE HOW OLD THE TOWELS ARE!!! SO MUCH FOR BEING REWARDED!!
SILVER LOUNGE DOHA - The most uncomfortable seats EVER! Who on earth decided to buy these chairs? Terrible.
