We are shocked at some of the reviews on Trip Advisor and Holiday Watch Dog etc. The general opinion is that this is no way a 4 Star Hotel. No wonder the staff are so rude when the Management do not care about guests. One poor couple got locked on the balcony and despite reception receiving several phone calls they did nothing to help.

FILTHY NASTY ROBBING STAFF - MONEY STOLEN FROM ROOM
Just back from 11 days at the Palm Beach Hotel. Great at first, clean, friendly staff, nice pool etc but then..... Arrived on the Saturday then on the Monday, to my utter dismay the building work from the surrounding sites started from 8am to 8pm! Remarked on this to the reception staff who commented that my tour agent should have informed me of the building work when I booked the holiday (they didn't, thanks Expedia!) Could things get worse? yeap they could and they did! The music from the restaurant which initially was played inside was moved to outside so that it could be heard half way down the hill! was played from 8pm to 12midnight and I thought down-graded the hotel considerably! ....... Then money was stolen from my room and when I enventually got to speak to the manager about it the night before I was to return home, he was less than sympathetic towards me! and frankly needed some customer relations training! I never retrieved my money and I come back to england with a bitter taste in my mouth!......I won't be going abck to the Palm Beach Hotel!!........

hotel itself is clean and well kept with good facilites.food was average to good quality.however hotel is a bit far from beach and main strip.hotel pool doesnt catch the sun after 3pm.
The only other major negative is the stag and hen parties this is not fair to the other guests.

The hotel was lovely and the staff very friendly, food was excellent we new prior to going we had an uphill hotel, but when we got there we where very disappointed that 5 stag and 2 hen parties where staying at the hotel they took over everything from the pool to the bar shouting of the balconies etc one night we got hardly any sleep at all and the police had to be called for this reason only we will not be returning to The palm beach hotel

The entrance to the hotel is quite grand. The staff are friendly enough but not overly. The restaurant staff are more pleasant. The food was OK, but nothing seemed to be hot. It's a family orientated hotel so if you want peace and quiet, this isn't the hotel for you as lots of kids were about. However, I didn't see any kids clubs. The family entertainment started at 10.00pm and the acts started at about 10.45pm which was a bit late for me after a day out. There wasn't Wi-Fi access as advertised so you have to use the hotel facility which didn't work when I tried it. The rooms are kept clean, but the corridor carpet needs a good clean as do the bannisters on the staircases. I've stayed in nicer 4* hotels. The beach isn't too far away, but you need a good pair of walking shoes to deal with the hills.

The hotel was great, up a bit of a hill but not a real problem. Food was fab, hotel was clean, rooms could do with updating, there were 4 couples in our party and the major complaint we had was the beds, the noise they made when you move on them was terrible you couldn't turn over without the whole hotel hearing you and that was the beds in all four bedrooms. Also there is a disco in the hotel open from 11pm till 7am and there was a lot of noise with people shouting to each other until the disco closed. We would stay here again though, really nice hotel.

The hotel is situated some distance from the town at the top of the hill, to walk down is not a problem but it`s a struggle to walk back.
The staff are friendly and efficient. The entertainment is poor unless you speak fluent spanish and like dancing. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortably enough for a short break. The food was very good and plentiful. There is no view really unless you like other hotels. Benidorm is lovely and we had a nice break because the weather was nice but if the weather is inclement Palm Beach would not be the place to stay because of its location.

Sorry to say, I was very dissapointed with the stay. I was also very unhappy that the room was not as displayed on the web site, it was smaller and not very welcoming.
The hotel is lovely. The reception staff we dealt with leave a lot to be desired - NOT welcoming or friendly. Disappointed no tea/coffee making facilities in room. Also didnt state on web site what board was included, on arrival discovered NO food included at all. Web page also didnt display "Junior Suites" were available in this hotel, which is what we chose to stay in but only knew of these rooms upon arrival.

Booked this hotel thinking it was a 4...

Booked this hotel thinking it was a 4 star but got more of a 2 star+. The hotel from the out-side looks fine but our room was in need of a good make over, a lick of paint wouldn't go a miss, the towel rack was hanging off but the room cleaning was every day with beds changed every day too. The eating area is good but the food basic and very spanish, the menu looks good and presented well but the food not so the ribs were fatty and not cooked enough, the shops were grissely. DON'T get me wrong im a big eater and love good food but on this holiday found myself filling up on pasta, rice and chips with the odd pork escolope thrown in but that was it. On our departure date back to the UK our transfere was due before breakfast was served so we asked for a packed lunch for 7am that morning which we were given in a fancy box which really was the best thing about it as it was made up of what looked like 3 pieces of left over cake from the day befores buffett wrapped in cling film 3 pieces of fruit and not a sandwich in site fine if you have a sweet tooth, we both looked at each other and laughed and proseeded to put the job lot in the bin as we waited for our coach. Also the hills are a killer we are both fit and really suffered.
We have stayed at a few 4 star hotels all HB and have been very satisfied with the whole holiday the last one being Hotel Atlantica Bay in Limassol Cyprus which is a 4 star hotal and is magic but the Palm Beach doesn't have a mark on this or any other one we have stopped in. How the hotel has a rating 4 star is beyond me and needs re-assesing and i can safely say we won't be going back to that hotel but Benidorm yes we will.

Im shocked by peoples comments about the hotel. An obvious fault, being the hill which you have to climb up to get to the hotel from the beach has been overlooked by many people who have wrote reviews. That was a problem which we found.
I found that the food was poor apart from the rare occasion of something nice. The food is basic, ranging from freezer food to pasta and chips.
Apart from the over rated reception area and the toilets on the ground floor, the rooms were simple and the cleaning was also average on most days.
I think 4 stars is too much, as I felt that the hotel met the minimum requirements.
I wouldn't go back to this hotel again.

Went there with family. It is not really a 4 * hotel more like a 2* the maid was thieving clothes we had bought and money we left in a hotel room she took 50 euros and left the purse open we did report her to reception only said that cause we didnt have a safe then its not there fault. very noisy hotel and is defferntly not worth a 4* hotel the only best thing about it was the food but wouldent recomend it and make sure you take money and al valubles with you cause the maid is a complete THEIF!!

“NEVER COULD THIS BE A 4* HOTEL”
Arrived at the palm beach hotel to be greeted by a not so happy lady on reception how gave us our key to our room and pointed to the lift. The room was small and to my horror there were several nasty looking smears on the bedroom walls [ some brown some red ] need i say more! Asked if we could be move to another room, only to be told that they are all the same. Meals were a disappointment to say the least. how they think that sprouts and chips go with fresh salmon i will never know. The one big bug bear i had was that all holiday makers were made to feel that they them self should clear there table after each course. I refused to do this and left all crockery on the table. I am pleased that we went to benidorm, only so i know that I will NEVER return. If you like tacky shops and drunken people, this will be right up your street. If your looking for culture, great food, and a better class of people DONT GO

“Terrible Hotel & Terrible service”
just come back from a week staying in palm beach hotel, the staff were very good especielly cleaning around the grounds and pool area ,however this hotel was full of staring and unpleseant spanish tourists constantlly whatching you when you eat which my partner found anoing ,bedding wasnt changed for the whole week my partner is a cleaning supervisor and checked every day and dirty under the bed all week no way this should be 4 star the corridors were also very dirty ,and as for the hill never again/ the food was ok but not as we expected for a 4 star the staff in the reastraunt were very freandlly take my hat of to you in food area, this could be a very nice hotel if you looked closer to the maintenace

“Terrible Hotel & Terrible service”

“CRAP HOTEL...WOULDNT GO BACK”
My girlfriend and I are just back from here....NEVER AGAIN...iTS A PIT....Full of spanish.....food awful mush... rooms awful.....tired and smelly...though the air con did work ......miles from anywhere.......have stayed in benidorm a ferw times and this was the worst ever...The Rio Park is much better for FOOD, Location, everything.....and it s meant to be a 2*......
its a very very steep hill and we are quite fit......no way is this a 4* hotel ....NO CHANCE...
If you have booked here cancel......

the entertainment is non existent...........

well were do i start 4 star hotel no chance maybe 20 years ago it was . arrive at hotel which was up a steep hill the reception area was nice but then we got to the rooms hahaha they were horrible cheap ugly beds and the furniture was terrible , satilite tv lol yes a tiny portabe stuck on a bracket the tv was nearly as old as the hotel . the food was nice i have to say u were never left hungry .the safety deposit boxes were in a little room but make sure u use a gas mask because the smell of the tiny room was disgusting .....i have stayed in better 3 star aparments how the hell the have a 4 star on this hotel is beyond me because its not i repeat not oh and one more thing it is mainly spanish who holidays there so in the night the evening entertainment is a joke because u cant understand a word of what they going on about... so people beware this aint 4 star or any type of luxuary hotel

just returned back from staying at the Hotel Palm Beach Benidorm 4star-would honestly not recommend this hotel! This hotel iS for the spanish only!!!!!!!!!!!!!We arrived Sunday@1.00am in the morning and were very tired, we got to reception and a man without a smile checked us in! pleased with the location of the room, as it was on the 3rd floor. We were not pleased with the room had not been cleaned properly e.g bathroom and ash on the balconcy. Also we had paid saturday to saturday for that room and we did not arrive until early Sunday morning because of our flight so welcome pack in the room would of been nice touch-but there was nothing!
Room looked tired even more than us@ 1.00am,but the air con was 4stars. Balcony a good size.
Food was just ok only give it 2star though i was looking forward to eating a lot of tapas but there was none!
Dining service was 4star ran like clockwork and the staff in the dining room worked hard.
Maid service was ok no cleaning done in room or renewing of soaps etc.
Swimming pool was excellent set in lovely setting-Pool area was cleaned every day and lifeguard always on duty.there were not enough sunbeds, people would come down early and put their towels on them and turn up later.
Reception staff were ok!
Safety deposit box was kept in the stronge room, charged us 15euro(inc 3euro deposit which you get back when you return your key)one week.
But we were staying in a 4star hotel and I think that this should of been free it would be in the uk.
Location of the hotel was a pain in the the neck----up a hill-----or cardiac hill.
We did get a few taxi back!

My friend and i returned from a week full board at this hotel and we both have mixed feelings about it. After reading such fantastic reviews, i was really looking forward to it. We arrived at the hotel around 12.30am and were tired from our journey. When we entered the hotel there was one man on reception, who was on the phone. He did not even look at us to acknowledge us, and kept us standing there for 20 minutes. I was not impressed, and found this a little ignorant.
Anyway when we got to our room it was spotless, can't fault the hotel on cleanliness. The room and public areas were very clean and the hotel looks exactly like it did in the pictures. We were were told when we finally got to check in that there was some salad in the dining room for us, which was a nice touch. The hill the hotel was on was extremely steep and in the blazing heat it is a struggle to go up and down, however a taxi from the centre of town back to the hotel cost us 5 euros, which was good.
The food was okay, wouldn't say it was great, but it was okay. What i will say is that the drink in this hotel is very expensive. A pint is 3 euros and most of the pubs around the hotel do a pint for a euro. Any cocktails, bailleys etc are 5 euros, and a jug of sangria is 8 euros 75. Also be aware that the vodka they pour out of a smirnoff bottle is not smirnoff. The hotel was mostly spanish guests, we were only aware of 3 other British families, which we found unusual for Benidorm, and the spanish guests definitely get preferrential treatment here. Also beware that several times we were standing for some time waiting for a lift, and spanish people jumped in front of us, which i thought was rude.
The entertainment was mostly in spanish so hard to understand what was going on sometimes, okay for the kids i would say but not as good for adults. The dining room ran like clockwork, and i take my hat off to the staff and the manager of the dining hall. They are friendly and extremely hard working, although they are so busy ensuring everything is running like clockwork that sometimes they are too busy for the personal touch, or to have a chat which is a shame. The staff at the entertainment area and pool bar were quite straight faced, not very friendly, and were unhappy if you asked for ice, also sometimes had difficulty understanding english so difficult to explain what you wanted.
I have to say that we were not informed of any free bus tickets so we had been paying our fares. I was really annoyed with the receptionist with the short dark hair, she was extremely ignorant and even when you were asking for help with something, she could even come across as irritable and bordering on aggressive. This person really annoyed me, i felt there was no need for the way she behaved, however i did not want to waste my holiday complaining.
We wouldn't return to this hotel, due to the reasons mentioned above, and to be honest we were glad to be back home.

just returnd from Plam Beach this is not a 4 star its like a 3 star, room very small for 3 people.no food to be taken out of the resturant (why) when you paid £1200 - £1400 a week, evening entertainment was ok. breakfast champagne (was not) only 3 euro down the road.no chips at the pool bar & got upset when asked for some ice around the pool, very small lifts and the kids club was crap , no lilos in the pool.
we went half board and no water with the meal!! in the evening had to pay(why) its only water.

“Don't go to this Hotel!”
My wife and i booked this 4 star hotel as a short break for our 10th wedding anniversary, but sadly all we got was a rather grubby 2/3 star. As this was a special occasion, i emailed the booking agent to have a bottle of champagne on ice in the room on our arrival, this was confirmed by a returned email from the Hotel, who stated that this would be done, and that there would be no charge, which i thought was a nice gesture. As we arrived at 11. 50am we couldn't get into our room as it wasn't ready, so were told to take our bags to the luggage room and come back in a couple of hours, no offer of help! the room is back outside down the steps round the corner under the building, bit like a cellar. This we did, and returned at 2. 20pm, room still not ready, so were told to go and have some lunch and come back again, so, still sweaty from 2 taxi rides and a 2 &1/2 hour flight, we went to the restaraunt, in short it was very poor, if you want water with your meal you have to pay for it, we had paid full board. We returned again at 3.30pm and got our room key card, so once again back outside to retrieve our bags from the cellar still no help, not a porter in sight!. (unlike the picture on website...)

My girlfriend and I are just back from here....NEVER AGAIN...iTS A PIT....Full of spanish.....food awful mush... rooms awful.....tired and smelly...though the air con did work ......miles from anywhere.......have stayed in benidorm a ferw times and this was the worst ever...The Rio Park is much better for FOOD, Location, everything.....and it s meant to be a 2*......
its a very very steep hill and we are quite fit......no way is this a 4* hotel ....NO CHANCE...

Having seen the rest of the Hotel i was hopeing the room would be an improvement! Not a chance! small, dated, and no Champagne!, so back down to reception to ask why, "Oh we did'nt know what time you were arriving". "But we've been here since 11. 50am". It turned up at 5pm. The staff need a lesson in diplomacy, people skills, and how to smile!.
My advice is, If you like canteen food, normally do 2 star Hotels, and like traffic wardens, then you'll be ok!
If you want 4 Star, then DON'T GO TO THIS HOTEL, as you will be very dissapointed.

Hi,
We're just back from Palm beach Benidorm.
It is so not a four star, more like a 2.5/3 star! I stayed at better 3 stars!
If you have already booked, remember that the bus to the beach is a red ticket(from reception) and it only runs every half hour till 2pm, then none till 5pm. The rooms are ok, the air con was not cold enough in that weather (33degrees). The lifts are roasting! When we went down for dinner one evening, a bunch of spanish kids pressed every one of the buttons in the lift! There are only 3 small lifts, people who are at the lower floors (1st, 2nd) dont walk it, they use the lift, so you stop at nearly every level in the roasting lift! (its not too bad to walk down from 10th floor when the lifts are busy.
The food was not 4 star! "big choice"? no, i didn't think so, maybe for people who go on holiday for the first time.
This is my first time in Benidorm, and my last. We went to Levante beach, eughh, it looked nice enough, until you actually go in for a swim! we all got cuts on our feet(all eight of us), not really bad cuts except for me, i scrapped my ankle on the moss covered rocks, and it has swollen up, it is a dirty beach, there were also sanitary towels floating about, we only seen 2, but that was enough!
One more thing, don't change your money in the shop next to subway, it is a currency exchange shop, but when i changed £200, i asked the girl, is it 1.15 euros? she said, "same as the board", ok, the board says 1.15 euros, i give her the money, then, i ask again, and she says the same thing again! then she gives me my money, there is only 190 euros, i ask her, there is money short, then she points to a small board next to the window, saying 1.15 for money £600 and over! i asked for my money back, and she taps the window on to another sigh saying "no money refunded"while i was walking out, a man was going in, i said to him not to change there, and he said, he already has, and that she short changed him, so i told him that you only get .95 if you change under £600. He was mad, but there was nothing he could do!
I didn't enjoy it, but there are a alot of people who do, so check out all you info, and have a good holiday!

“Great hotel in many ways, but when it really mattered they failed us”
Just come back from a week at this hotel with my wife and two daughters. Lovely clean hotel, brilliant retaurant with a great selection that you would be hard pressed not to enjoy. The staff were very friendly and helpful (but see below) and the kids loved the day and evening entertainment. The guys running the entertainment were exceptionally good. Pool area is very nice with fun games for adults and children arranged by the staff. Great atmosphere. Some reviewers talk about the hill walk from the beach to the hotel, but it didn't bother us.
On the downside, our room was very small and the view was on to the green flat roof above the impressive entrance lobby, so we didn't use the balcony. There is a small gym, though it is very primitive. A bunch of guys on a stag weekend arrived just before we left and their nude antics (flashing from their balconies overlooking the bar and pool areas - our kids saw them first and pointed it out to me) were not dealt with very well by the staff at all who were more intent on telling me not to get upset than they were telling these guys their behaviour was not acceptable. In fact, my daughters complained directly to the receptioon staff who didn't take them seriously at all until I made a fuss myself. This one event spoiled what until them was a great holiday in a very nice hotel. Were it not for this event, I would have given them full marks for service. I did not recieve any communication from the staff telling me what action they were taking to ensure this didn't happen again, even though I asked for them to do so. It's left me thinking that families visitng this hotel take a big risk, because it seems easy for this kind of thing to happen as there is evidently no policy or set of procedures to deal with it.

“hated every minute”
Be warned stayed two nights out of our seven day holiday,not one good thing to say. moved bedroom two nights running due to paper thin walls. lifts an absolute nightmare. do not let anybody kid you about the hill up to the hotel(nightmare) bedroom corridors about two foot wide. food hall the noiseist we have ever been in.
no comfy seating areas apart from bar area.

“hotel on the mountain”
Stayed at palm beach with my father in law, 06/01 to 13/01 as per previous reports on the web i found the hotel to be sub-standard of its 4 star rating.the rooms are too small for more than 2 people at any one time,the indoor pool was freezing cold,the music played in the bar at night consisted of a d.j with the same playlist every night,as was the organist same every night.i found the hotel to be very set in its ways and was very reluctant to try new ideas.as is the case the luggage room was looted on the day of departure with money,cigarettes,and in one case passports going missing not impressed.

“wouldn't recommend to anyone”
Arrived in a group of 4 of us to find only 3 beds in the room, a room only really suitable for 2, staff put another bed in for us making the room extremely cramped.we resorted to getting ready in relay, the 4 of us only there at the same time to sleep. The bathroom was very small. Items of clothing & make up were taken from our room & another guest had £400 taken from their room. On the last day we used the hotel's luggage room for our cases, went for a walk & upon return a suitcase was missing! The room is locked, the key obtained from hotel reception....still waiting to hear what was seen by local police on the cctv....and an apology from the hotel.I definately would NOT stay here again & would recommend any one that does to keep a close eye on all of their belongings,

“Not very happy”
My daughter and family came to Benidorm to celebrate her fathers 80th birthday. Her father and myself stayed at a different hotel. They were not at all happy with Palm Beach Hotel. To start with 4 of them were in a 3 bedded room until they added another bed which absolutely filled the room so they could not get into the wardrobe. Then articles of clothing went missing, then some make-up and to finish the holiday off the largest case went missing out of the Hotel Luggage room. - So BEWARE OF THIS HOTEL.

“be aware of this hotel - things go missing”
We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. there were 3 adults and one child. when we walked in the room there was only 3 single beds in it and asked for a bigger room they said they had no bigger rooms but they would put another bed in which we had to move every time we wanted to go in the wardrobe! things disappeared from our room - a jumper some make up and some underwear. the hotel didn't seem interested. then on our last day we put the cases in the hotels lockable luggage room and one case disappeared completely. the case with all the cigarettes and clean clothes aftershave makeup and presents in. none of the others had been touched so some one knew which case to take. the hotel did pay for us a taxi to go to the police and to the airport. another man on our floor also had 400 pounds go missing out of his suitcase.
please please be aware....
Why does the Hotel Palm Beach Benidorm keep allowing guests luggage & personal property to be stolen? Why are the Staff not searched when leaving the Hotel just like UK Hotels? If there is an issue with theft why not try and stamp it out?

i i stayed at the palm beach from the 18th of july to 25th of july and the food was crap same thing morning after morning no change the evening meal was no better chicken 4 days out of the week i,ve had better at a 3 star hotel in benidom

“hated every minute”
Be warned stayed two nights out of our seven day holiday,not one good thing to say. moved bedroom two nights running due to paper thin walls. lifts an absolute nightmare. do not let anybody kid you about the hill up to the hotel(nightmare) bedroom corridors about two foot wide. food hall the noiseist we have ever been in.
no comfy seating areas apart from bar area.
WE STRONGLEY RECOMEND DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

“hotel on the mountain”
Stayed at palm beach with my father in law, 06/01 to 13/01 as per previous reports on the web i found the hotel to be sub-standard of its 4 star rating.the rooms are too small for more than 2 people at any one time,the indoor pool was freezing cold,the music played in the bar at night consisted of a d.j with the same playlist every night,as was the organist same every night.i found the hotel to be very set in its ways and was very reluctant to try new ideas.as is the case the luggage room was looted on the day of departure with money,cigarettes,and in one case passports going missing not impressed.

“wouldn't recommend to anyone”
Arrived in a group of 4 of us to find only 3 beds in the room, a room only really suitable for 2, staff put another bed in for us making the room extremely cramped.we resorted to getting ready in relay, the 4 of us only there at the same time to sleep. The bathroom was very small. Items of clothing & make up were taken from our room & another guest had £400 taken from their room. On the last day we used the hotel's luggage room for our cases, went for a walk & upon return a suitcase was missing! The room is locked, the key obtained from hotel reception....still waiting to hear what was seen by local police on the cctv....and an apology from the hotel.I definately would NOT stay here again & would recommend any one that does to keep a close eye on all of their belongings,

“Not very happy”
My daughter and family came to Benidorm to celebrate her fathers 80th birthday. Her father and myself stayed at a different hotel. They were not at all happy with Palm Beach Hotel. To start with 4 of them were in a 3 bedded room until they added another bed which absolutely filled the room so they could not get into the wardrobe. Then articles of clothing went missing, then some make-up and to finish the holiday off the largest case went missing out of the Hotel Luggage room. - So BEWARE OF THIS HOTEL.

“be aware of this hotel - things go missing”
We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. there were 3 adults and one child. when we walked in the room there was only 3 single beds in it and asked for a bigger room they said they had no bigger rooms but they would put another bed in which we had to move every time we wanted to go in the wardrobe! things disappeared from our room - a jumper some make up and some underwear. the hotel didn't seem interested. then on our last day we put the cases in the hotels lockable luggage room and one case disappeared completely. the case with all the cigarettes and clean clothes aftershave makeup and presents in. none of the others had been touched so some one knew which case to take. the hotel did pay for us a taxi to go to the police and to the airport. another man on our floor also had 400 pounds go missing out of his suitcase.
please please be aware....
Why does the Hotel Palm Beach Benidorm keep allowing guests luggage & personal property to be stolen? Why are the Staff not searched when leaving the Hotel just like UK Hotels? If there is an issue with theft why not try and stamp it out?
Surely Guests that pre-order Champagne should be looked after?

Reading all of the reviews it is clear that this Hotel is a joke!
The Management need to do something about the THEFT from guests & STOP treating "all inclusive" guests like shit....
No7 Agency will be updating these pages and monitoring "ALL" new complaints and adding them to this page, we will be letting British tourists know what to expect and will be making some video footage of how guests are treated. WE will pay €100 for video footage that we can use that shows staff being rude especially at the all inclusive bar...

Did anyone see the smart porter waiting at the top of the steps to help you? Perhaps you could send us a photo if you see him? We did find him here though.... He always seems to be around during photos and video sessions but not when tired guests are arriving! Now take your luggage downstairs yourself and do not be suprised if it gets nicked!
This video is even more misleading with a stretch limousine, Ferrari and Bentley outside! Surely this is just a big con? And look how the porter is stood there again! This is a joke! No wonder people are arriving expecting a Luxury 4 Star Hotel experience.

“Do not stay at Palm Beach Hotel Benidorm”
The staff were terribly rude unless you were Spanish. My friend and I were physically ignored when we tried to order drinks despite the waitress having already served several other Spanish guests right next to us!
The food was ok but nothing exciting, however the meat was all really fatty and they had chicken nuggets at breakfast which I thought was rather weird.
Even though we booked through a tour operator there were no reps at the hotel and we had to rely on the reception staff who were also unhelpful - telling us than mundomar (animal park) was a 5 minute walk when in fact it was more like 20. As well as this we had to press her for directions and she ended up giving us a road name which we wrote down but didn't even exist! We only found our way by pure chance of seeing a road sign.
The safety deposit boxes were not in the rooms and were in a separate safe room just off to the right of reception. This is not a problem however whilst we stayed there one lady had left her handbag at reception whilst going to her safety deposit box and by the time she had realised she had left it there and went back to get it, it had been stolen. All the receptionist could say was 'oh well, there’s nothing I can do' and was not at all helpful.
The majority of the other guests were pleasant however when it came to the entertainment in the evening the majority of the Spanish rushed to the front and would physically push/move people if they were in there way.
The hotel was at the top of a few hills so it was quite a walk to get back up after a day out! However there are free shuttle buses so that would always be an option. The lifts are rather slow and small, they only fit four people which is a bit of an issue when lots of people arrive or leave with suitcases. The swimming pool doesn't get much sun as it is surrounded by other buildings so is quite shaded. If you want to sunbathe your best bet is to go to the beach (4 euros per sun bed and 4 euros for an umbrella).
All in all, the hotel itself wasn't too bad but the staff and guests were quite rude and unhelpful (unless u were Spanish) so my advice would be don't go there. I have been on many Spanish holidays and by far this is the least enjoyable one I’ve been on and I would not recommend anyone staying at the Palm Beach Hotel or even in Benidorm itself.

“Avoid at all costs!!!!”
I go on a few holidays a year & have never felt the need to write a review, until now.
I´ll try & be brief about the issues I have with this place:-
- the food is awfull, bland, tasteless rubbish. I was there for 2 weeks & eat out almost every night.
- the rooms are tiny.
- the lifts are ridiculously small. There are 3 lifts that hold 4 people each to service 10 floors. I spent half my time waiting for a lift.
- The corridors are too narrow. This may seem petty but if the maid has her trolley outside a room you can´t get past with a buggy, which is very irritating.
- The hotel is at the top of a very large hill & is surrounded by resedential appartments. Each of these apartments seems to own a dog & these dogs all go to the toilet on the path to the hotel. This makes walking up the hill very risky.
There are far better hotels in Benidorm so take my advice & book somewhere else!

“Definately NOT 4 star!!”
First impressions of the hotel were good. Reception area was very attractive and looked immaculately clean. BUT upon entering the lifts we got a very different feel. The lifts werent very clean and the corridor to our room was disgusting for a "4 star hotel". The carpets were very old and dirty, walls and paintwork were all scuffed. The rooms were ok but again not what we expected for such a high rated hotel. As we arrived late on the evening we were told that we would be served with a cold buffet, I wish we had never bothered - slices of what can only be described as "pink death" and a salad containing cauliflower and carrots!!!!! The pool and grounds of the hotel were lovely, although the pool is not large enough to cater for everyone when the hotel is full. The week we spent there (Aug 28th - Sept 4th) apparently it is the Spanish holidays and this hotel was full of them. The food was of an "ok" standard, very repetative and not much choice unless you like chicken nuggets for breakfast! There is quite a steep hill to the hotel but there is a bus that runs down to the beach and to the centre every half an hour - although it ceases to run in the afternoon from about 2 til 5. The entertainment was totally catered for the Spanish so we didnt bother to stay in the hotel on an evening. Overall didnt rate the hotel and will NOT be returning to the Palm Beach.

“Certainly Should Not Be Classed As A 4*”
Our first impressions of the Hotel from the outside, and the reception area was "wow". However when we got to our room at 11.00pm, we were very dissapointed. The room was small, very basic, needed updating asap, nothing like the photos on the website, this made us more dissapointed. The toilet was in such an awkward position, it was unusable by adults, unless you sat sideways. The hill is very steep to the hotel, however there is a free shuttle bus every 30 minutes, we were advised by other guests in the hotel about this bus. I must admit the food was great, having read the review I was a little worried, however we were full board, and its one of the best hotel resuaurants we have been too. The hotel was filled with mainly Spanish people, and we felt the entertainment was mainly for them. It was a nice hotel, but I would say a 2/3 star, we have always stayed in 3* hotels, and this was a 4*, but I would definately not rate this as 4* at all. I would not recommend this hotel to elderly or disabled people. It was a good holiday, but I certainly would not be rushing back to this hotel in the future. 6/10

“what a dump”
we booked this holiday under the impression we were staying at a 4 star hotel as we were traveling with a toddler. what a shock we had after checking in to the 4 star reception we then were squashed in to a lift that should only be seen on the antiques roadshow, we left the lift and to our horror we were no longer in the 4 star hotel we had viewed both on the internet and in the travel agents. we were in a 2 star dump, we stuggled to get down the corridor with our cases and a push chair as they are so narrow. we only ate there 1 night out of 7 as the food was horrible and repetative,
in the week we were there the communial areas were never cleaned and the standard of the cleaning in the rooms was very poor location is a joke, we are both fit people but when your climbing a hill (mountain) at 29 degrees it gets a bit much
Will not go back and would recommend it to no one

“Hell on Wheels--I'll take the charging Rhinoceros”
First of all let's deal with this hotel's 4 Star rating: the only way that this dump could get a real 4 stars would be if it were orbited to the moon--which, by the way, is a fantastic idea.
Having no idea what the place looked like I was booking blind and am always guided by the star rating of a hotel.
In this case four star means: Boiling rooms (despite 'air conditioning', which was leaking through the ceiling I might add); a broken toilet; loose bathroom tiles; next to no customer service, and a general belief by the staff that guests are a major inconvenience; the most incredible noise I have ever heard in any hotel--ever(there was a wedding disco going on in the hotel discoteque, which was beautifully placed next to our room--not that the 'pool party' for the residents finished before 2am anyway!); a bizarre minibar set up, where you have an empty minibar and have to go to reception everytime you want anything(don't ask for anything to be brought to your room unless you have the patience of a saint); no pillows on the bed (and there won't be, we asked);the most incredibly tasteless, bland food I have ever experienced.
Our flight was at 6.30 am so we had to leave a 3.30. We got absolutely no sleep at all and every inch of the problem was the hotel's 'entertainment' of it's guests (resident, wedding or otherwise).
In their own literature it says that there should be no noise after 11pm--some hope!
This hotel is a also on the fringe of the resort, some distance from the beach. There is a bus service but if you're planning to walk I hope your fit, because on the way back it's all uphill--and it's steep.
All I can say is: the only way you would get me back through the front door of the Palm Beach Hotel would be if I were being charged by a crazed rhinoceros--and even then I would have to think about it.

“The good and the bad”
Stayed in the Palm Beach hotel for 2 weeks, and must say there are good things and bad things about the hotel. The reception is amazinf, looks very grand.
The lifts are really small and your only allowed 4 people at a time, which gets annoying at busy times.
The corridoors are very small and EXTREAMLY warm.
The rooms were nice and spacious, really clean, had a tv with a few english channels, you dont have to worry about the mini bar prices as they dint bother filling it. The view from the balcony was lovely. The beds are extreamly uncomfortable and you dont get much of a pillow, I often found myself falling down the middle of the two beds haha!
The air conditioning is great - however if you set it during the night - even at the lowest, you will wake up freezing. So you can either sweat yourself to sleep or freeze in the night haha!
The hotel had A LOT of Spanish guests, who I found to be sometimes a bit rude, and would push in front to get the lift. However everyones experience will be different.
The entertainment is in spanish, but they did attempt to include the english in the games.
The Hotel bar is quite expensive, the bar men dont talk very much english so if you order a snack like we did, youll usually get the wrong kind! Even if you point to the picture, which i found a bit strange.
The food was great, I dont know what people expect to find when they complain about the food because there is something for everyone. However we didnt eat dinner there every night, It would prbably have got a bit repetitive.
The bus service - Its great that its free. However its not so great that its only every half hour, so if you happen to be ready for 5 past an hour then youv got a long, WARM wait ahead of you. The buses were also often 10 minutes late, as its a bit hard to get turned at the bottom of that HUGE hill.
No one is exagerating about that hill, it is huge, and were both young people but theres no way i could have tackled walking up that hill in the heat.
The pool is FULL of children, and even though there is a childrens area of the pool, NONE of them will use it. It gets exxtreamly busy so if your looking to go for a quick swim youv got no chance.
Overall I thought the hotel had both good and bad points, if i were to stay in Benidorm again, I would definatly choose somewhere more central.

“4 star?????”
Beware, the only thing remotely 4* about this hotel is the reception, everything else is 3*.
The food, as described by my daughter is 'freezer food', the meat is poor quality, the fish always seems to be Hake. The salads were fresh, very nice. Breakfast, ok, but who wants warm milk on cereal and why are the rolls like bullets. Pretty boring fodder really. After a week you get sick of eating eat it. Drinks are expensive in the restaurant.
The rooms are small. Access via a narrow corridor, God help you if there was a fire and there was someone rather large in front of you moving very slowly!!! We called it 'the corridor of death' because during the day it must have been about 120 degrees.
The TV in the room has about 20 channels, 3 of which are in English....thanks! The air con was good though.
I was slightly misled by the map of where the hotel is. I foolishly thought it was not going to be 'crowded in', silly me, we were surrounded by 30 story tower blocks, not the view I'd anticipated. My mistake.
The pool area is crowded and we found ourselves 'chasing' the shade, which was difficult and sometimes impossible.
Be very aware that to get to this hotel on foot you have to negotiate some VERY steep hills that someone thought was a good idea to cover in very slippery, shiny tiles???
We are reasonably fit, and we found them a trial, especially in the afternoon heat. The upshot is I've come back with the thighs of an All-In wrestler! The option is queuing for the shuttle bus or getting a taxi.
If i were offered a free holiday at this hotel, I would have to decline the kind offer (like that's gonna happen!).

“Not impressed”
We have just spent a week at the Grand palm beach hotel.
The hotel is at the top of a very steep hill o.k if your are young but quite daunting for the elderly and anyone suffering ill health. At first glance everything looks fine. Room clean but basic, for some reason the cleaner never left any soap at all and missed 2 days cleaning. Food varied and o.k best to go in the first hour so you are guaranteed hot food and after that it becomes tepid. The hotel has no shop of any kind although it does have vending machines which are quite expensive, Bar quite expensive ie: 3.50 euros for a pint, Pool bar only opened sat/sun from 12.00 - 3.30pm maybe this will change in the high season.Building work still ongoing at the rear of hotel. Free bus service to town tickets available from reception. indoor pool very warm, outdoor pool very cold.plenty of sunbeds. overall i would rate this hotel as a 3 star certainly not a 4 .this is my opinion only.

“Great Hotel Roundy Yobs at Times”
The palm Beach Hotel is one of the best hotel we have stayed in the Reception Staff down to the cleaners and waiters are very helpful and very professional the food was fantastic with a good selection every day even the most pickiest cound not find fault the variety quality and selection. We was on full board and stayed for a week pool was good with no shortage of sun beds and there was a fridge in room to keep drinks cold entertainment 3 times a week was good. Now the bad points this Hotel is positioned up a steep hill we booked a transfer through Resort Hoppa via Travel Republic after waiting 45 mins at Airport and 90 mins on coach My Wife and I was the last drop off and dropped off at bottom of hill The driver said this is the official drop off I said my Wife suffers with high Blood pressue and cannot walk up the hill his Reply was nothing can be done enjoy your walk up thre hill it will give you an appetite for lunch and drove off I complained to Hotel and was told all other coaches drop off at entrance. The Hotel phoned Resort Hoppa and was told will not come up the hill and all complaints to Head Office in England on our Return we got a taxi to coach at bottom of hill also we was next on the 9th floor with a bunch of very noisy young girls taking 2 rooms next to us banging doors at 0500 in morning drunk laughing and giggling and a group of ten guys drinking round the pool and making a lot of noise pushing girls in the pool for 3 days after that it went quieter again. There is a shuttle bus free tickets at reception to beach every 30mins at entrance to hotel and another bus at bottom of hill to town centre every hour which you can the walk round the corner and pick up beach bus to save walking up hill.

“Do not book this hotel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
We have just returned from the Palm Beach hotel for 7 nights and quite frankly it was the hotel from hell. Ongoing building works currently taking place, every single morning at 8am without fail we was woken up by JCB’s digging right outside the hotel, everyday we had no alternative other than to get up at 8am everyday and then had to spend the entire day outside the hotel as we could no longer stand all the noise. We had planned to spend our holiday relaxing at the hotel whilst our son swam in the outside pool but the ongoing noisy building works totally spoilt that for us. The main sewage drain burst outside the hotel and the noise was terrible, what a nice sight to see just as you walk outside the hotel – a sewage drain being dug up which absolutely reeked - charming! Our view from the balcony was absolutely terrible, it is not very nice taking photos home of JCB’s overlooking your balcony!! To say this hotel is a four star is a complete joke, the rooms were filthy – the floor wasn’t once cleaned during the 7 nights that we were there, the beds were rock hard, unsightly cracks in the concrete running along the top of the balcony - obviously caused by the ongoing building works, what with all the digging etc taking place this is bound to cause cracks. To make matters even worse we were woken up practically every night to hear lager louts yelling in the bar downstairs. I have just wrote a complaint letter to my tour operator who failed to advise us of the ongoing building works!!!
To call this a four star hotel is a complete joke this hotel is in need of some major refurbishment to bring it back up to a four star standard! – Take my advice – DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!

“dissappointed !!”
my partner and i arrived back yesterday after a 3 night stay at the palm beach..
we had read the reviews before we went ,and the only negative people said was the steep hill , and boy they werent exaggerating !! i now have calves like a racehorse !!. the hotel really looks the part and we were really looking forward to staying there. FIRSTLY.. due to the road being dug up ,we had to walk up a steep hill with our cases because the coach couldnt get up to the hotel..not a good start. hotel looks beautiful from the outside .. all marble reception..lovely swimming pool.. our room was so small.. nothing like we expected , couldnt swing a cat around in the bathroom..it was cleaned daily though.
food was nothing special ..we have had better in lower rated hotels in benidorm.so we had 2 main meals out.
staff were pretty unhelpful as well....the bar prices were sky high too.
there is no way i would stay there again.. i now know why it was only £ 92 to stay there for 3 nights.
i think the hill ,and the noise from the building work put us off as soon as we got there and with everything else it just spoilt our holiday .
only good thing was the weather , it was scorching !!

“hotel not 4 star”
just returned from a week in the palm beech hotel on arrival first impressions were good. the third day the main sewage drains burst out side the hotel and the noise was terrable the staff didn't even inform you how long it was going to last etc.on our 5th night we were going up in the lift to our rooms three females myself and 2 daughters 2 men got in and started touching my youngest daughter to cut a long story short there was a bit of a scuffle were my oldest daughter was pushed to the ground and i got a slap in the face and her purse was stolen the night staff on reception was just not interested we were going home next day and the 2 guys had just arrived ,to cap it all someone else urinated outside my daughters room again not interested they said that this was acceptable behaviour because the man was drunk .we were in benidorm 5 times last year never any trouble at all and you dont expect it in your hotel especialy a 4star

“not what I expected”
My partner and I arrived 2nd of April. Website looked really impressive what a disappointment. Staff were not friendly at all. Meals quite basic fry up every morning soaked with fat. Evening meals not much better repeated every other night. pool bar closed as well as snack bar. “Hotel In the Clouds”
The Hotel looks great from the outside when you EVENTUALLY get up the hill in the coach but I am afraid it ends there.
Perhaps this was a 4 star when NEW but needs a lot of TLC now!
Our room was so tiny (not what was shown on the web) and the toilet was in the corner of the bathroom wedged between the sink and bidet only a child could access it we had to use the public ones in reception. The bath had black mould around the edge (I thought it was old grout but when rubbed with a finger it came off!!). WE had not been told about BUILDING WORK going on for 12 hours a day (jack hammers) which did not help our stay.
We booked full board but only stomached one meal I will normally eat ANYTHING ANYWHERE and not cause a fuss but when I got a pork chop that bled when I cut it, I then tried a chicken leg but that was pink that was enough for me we did not return to the restaurant again.
There is a free bus to the beach that stops at the hotel which was fine and ran every 30 mins. A second bus is available to take you to the centre but we where NOT told by reception (WHO ISSUE THE BUS TICKETS) that you had to walk down the hill from hell to get it? We wasted 2 hours waiting at the wrong bus stop.
What is the point of putting a free bus on to the centre because of the hotel location that drops you off at the bottom of the hill that you then have then got to CLIMB not walk? We had to flag a taxi to take us to the hotel as my mother in law could not manage it.
No entertainment on a night and with being out of the way with no local bars you had to sit in the hotel bar.
I was so looking forward to our stop after seeing the photos please do not make the mistake I did and stop there!
“Hell on Wheels--I'll take the charging Rhinoceros”
First of all let's deal with this hotel's 4 Star rating: the only way that this dump could get a real 4 stars would be if it were orbited to the moon--which, by the way, is a fantastic idea.
Having no idea what the place looked like I was booking blind and am always guided by the star rating of a hotel.
In this case four star means: Boiling rooms (despite 'air conditioning', which was leaking through the ceiling I might add); a broken toilet; loose bathroom tiles; next to no customer service, and a general belief by the staff that guests are a major inconvenience; the most incredible noise I have ever heard in any hotel--ever(there was a wedding disco going on in the hotel discoteque, which was beautifully placed next to our room--not that the 'pool party' for the residents finished before 2am anyway!); a bizarre minibar set up, where you have an empty minibar and have to go to reception everytime you want anything(don't ask for anything to be brought to your room unless you have the patience of a saint); no pillows on the bed (and there won't be, we asked);the most incredibly tasteless, bland food I have ever experienced.
Our flight was at 6.30 am so we had to leave a 3.30. We got absolutely no sleep at all and every inch of the problem was the hotel's 'entertainment' of it's guests (resident, wedding or otherwise).
In their own literature it says that there should be no noise after 11pm--some hope!
This hotel is a also on the fringe of the resort, some distance from the beach. There is a bus service but if you're planning to walk I hope your fit, because on the way back it's all uphill--and it's steep.
All I can say is: the only way you would get me back through the front door of the Palm Beach Hotel would be if I were being charged by a crazed rhinoceros--and even then I would have to think about it.

“The good and the bad”
Stayed in the Palm Beach hotel for 2 weeks, and must say there are good things and bad things about the hotel. The reception is amazinf, looks very grand.
The lifts are really small and your only allowed 4 people at a time, which gets annoying at busy times.
The corridoors are very small and EXTREAMLY warm.
The rooms were nice and spacious, really clean, had a tv with a few english channels, you dont have to worry about the mini bar prices as they dint bother filling it. The view from the balcony was lovely. The beds are extreamly uncomfortable and you dont get much of a pillow, I often found myself falling down the middle of the two beds haha!
The air conditioning is great - however if you set it during the night - even at the lowest, you will wake up freezing. So you can either sweat yourself to sleep or freeze in the night haha!
The hotel had A LOT of Spanish guests, who I found to be sometimes a bit rude, and would push in front to get the lift. However everyones experience will be different.
The entertainment is in spanish, but they did attempt to include the english in the games.
The Hotel bar is quite expensive, the bar men dont talk very much english so if you order a snack like we did, youll usually get the wrong kind! Even if you point to the picture, which i found a bit strange.
The food was great, I dont know what people expect to find when they complain about the food because there is something for everyone. However we didnt eat dinner there every night, It would prbably have got a bit repetitive.
The bus service - Its great that its free. However its not so great that its only every half hour, so if you happen to be ready for 5 past an hour then youv got a long, WARM wait ahead of you. The buses were also often 10 minutes late, as its a bit hard to get turned at the bottom of that HUGE hill.
No one is exagerating about that hill, it is huge, and were both young people but theres no way i could have tackled walking up that hill in the heat.
The pool is FULL of children, and even though there is a childrens area of the pool, NONE of them will use it. It gets exxtreamly busy so if your looking to go for a quick swim youv got no chance.
Overall I thought the hotel had both good and bad points, if i were to stay in Benidorm again, I would definatly choose somewhere more central.

“4 star?????”
Beware, the only thing remotely 4* about this hotel is the reception, everything else is 3*.
The food, as described by my daughter is 'freezer food', the meat is poor quality, the fish always seems to be Hake. The salads were fresh, very nice. Breakfast, ok, but who wants warm milk on cereal and why are the rolls like bullets. Pretty boring fodder really. After a week you get sick of eating eat it. Drinks are expensive in the restaurant.
The rooms are small. Access via a narrow corridor, God help you if there was a fire and there was someone rather large in front of you moving very slowly!!! We called it 'the corridor of death' because during the day it must have been about 120 degrees.
The TV in the room has about 20 channels, 3 of which are in English....thanks! The air con was good though.
I was slightly misled by the map of where the hotel is. I foolishly thought it was not going to be 'crowded in', silly me, we were surrounded by 30 story tower blocks, not the view I'd anticipated. My mistake.
The pool area is crowded and we found ourselves 'chasing' the shade, which was difficult and sometimes impossible.
Be very aware that to get to this hotel on foot you have to negotiate some VERY steep hills that someone thought was a good idea to cover in very slippery, shiny tiles???
We are reasonably fit, and we found them a trial, especially in the afternoon heat. The upshot is I've come back with the thighs of an All-In wrestler! The option is queuing for the shuttle bus or getting a taxi.
If i were offered a free holiday at this hotel, I would have to decline the kind offer (like that's gonna happen!).

“Not impressed”
We have just spent a week at the Grand palm beach hotel.
The hotel is at the top of a very steep hill o.k if your are young but quite daunting for the elderly and anyone suffering ill health. At first glance everything looks fine. Room clean but basic, for some reason the cleaner never left any soap at all and missed 2 days cleaning. Food varied and o.k best to go in the first hour so you are guaranteed hot food and after that it becomes tepid. The hotel has no shop of any kind although it does have vending machines which are quite expensive, Bar quite expensive ie: 3.50 euros for a pint, Pool bar only opened sat/sun from 12.00 - 3.30pm maybe this will change in the high season.Building work still ongoing at the rear of hotel. Free bus service to town tickets available from reception. indoor pool very warm, outdoor pool very cold.plenty of sunbeds. overall i would rate this hotel as a 3 star certainly not a 4 .this is my opinion only.

“Great Hotel Roundy Yobs at Times”
The palm Beach Hotel is one of the best hotel we have stayed in the Reception Staff down to the cleaners and waiters are very helpful and very professional the food was fantastic with a good selection every day even the most pickiest cound not find fault the variety quality and selection. We was on full board and stayed for a week pool was good with no shortage of sun beds and there was a fridge in room to keep drinks cold entertainment 3 times a week was good. “will not stay here again”
looks very grand from the outside but that is where it ends. Food was average but repeated every other night,nothing to do in day time,and when you are lazing by the pool or on the patio area it would of been nice to have seen a waiter to get a drink but the whole week you had to go to the bar yourself only to find at least 2 staff just chatting. Indoor pool ok but dirty floor area all week, no cash point no drink vending machines,only 2 computers and one was not working and stayed like that all week .Door keys are of the card type and in that one week w had 12 cards changed as they just would not work,and when asking for a replacement at reception we were just asked room number and a card was issued never asked who you were,so basically you could have ot a card for any room. Night entertainment was friday and saterday evenings and didnt start till after 11pm.At weekends it is a hotel for spanish holiday makers and you dont realy seem to be wanted there they are very rude. No good for wheelchairs as passages are to narrow, and lifts are to small.

this is the worst hotel i ever been to. was told it was on a slight incline when in actual fact it was on a very steep hill. the food was terrible i got raw pork on my only visit to restaurant only to be told to wait & they cook me more ( as if) i paid for full board & ate out after that so it was money wasted. the staff are not helpfull at all. never again.

“nicknamed coronary hill easy to see why .”
enjoyed our stay in benidorm. but some things about hotel palm beach do not merit 4 stars i.e toilet seat too close to washbasin in room 805 .lifts too small and unreliable .staff at reception ignore you if spanish residents are in queue even if you were there first. also there are actually three hills to climb to get to hotel. food was very good . maid service very good .a word of caution about mini bar in room. check all is there before you settle in . our bar was missing vodka and gin bottles were already opened.

“take my advice!!”
I returned home about 3 hours ago and could not wait to write a review on the hotel Palm Beach as it was that bad.
I would not recommend it to any one
It states on many websites that the hotel is on a slight hill. Well its not! There are about 5 steep hills to climb which is not ideal for prams wheelchairs and elderly. We went half board but ended up eating out most of the time as the food was often cold and of a very poor selection. The menu each night did not vary and as for the waiters they were very arrogant.
The rooms were small with barely any walking space. There was a TV stand in our room but no TV on it. The bathroom was cramped up. We had to sit on the toilet side ways otherwise our knees would be touching the underneath of the sink. The door of the bathroom was rotted which was turning half of the door green. It was not all that clean either as on the 3rd day we noticed the floor was not getting mopped so we but a blob of sun cream by the patio door to see if it would get mopped up an when we left on our 10th day it was still there, that proves they don’t clean that well.
The hotel was full of Spanish and all the entertainment was in Spanish, not like you need entertainment in Benidorm. The staff were all for the Spanish clearing there plates from there tables and leaving ours which was quite annoying. I may sound fussy when you read this but am not I just think the hotel you stay at makes your holiday and it really did put a downer on ours.
Please take my advice and do not stay there you will only end up regretting it!!

“Dispicable!Absolutly disgusted!”
When i booked up to come to this hotel with my daughter and teenage grand-daughter, i expected a four star luxury hotel as promised. When we arrived our room was three hours late in being ready..we checked in on time but were told to return three hours later when our room would be ready, upon return, it still wasn't ready and we were given an alternate room.This room was cramped, dirty and smelly. Our balcony had roof tiles on the floor! There were huge crowds of rowdy teenagers at the entrance of the hotel and in the foyer, and the corridors,they were absolutly disgusting. There were sick stains splattered everywhere on the carpet and were very narrow. The windows in the corridors were all covered with dirty yellow blinds which allowed no light into the hallway, and made it seem even smaller. When walking along the narrow, smelly corridor it felt as though we were on a boat. Our "neighbours" were a group of teenagers on a hen night, taking men into their room at all hours and knocking on the door as a way of entertainment. The weather in April was freezing, of course this is no fault of the hotel's, but, the distance away from the local town, is! And in cold weather, this is not a nice walk.
To anyone who is considering making a booking to The Palm Beach Hotel; it's noisy, dirty, smelly, out of the way and there is a waiting of five hours from breakfast untill lunch, there are no poolside bars, and no outdoor entertainment, and the children's club isn't actually open....in the off peak months....whicjh it does not inform you off. I have been to many four and five star hotels and this hotel, i would rate as a two star, if it's lucky.

“No way a four star hotel”
My partner and I have just returned from a weeks stay at the Palm beach Hotel in Benidorm. To say we were disappointed with the hotel would be an understatement.
When we walked into our room on the second floor we were overcome by the stench of stale tobacco, the roof of the foyer was directly below our balcony and this was strewn with litter including cigarette ends.
We expected a lot from this hotel but on arrival were met by hoards of teenagers sitting on the hotel steps and loitering in the foyer. Apparently the hotel takes block bookings from schools from different parts of the continent and in the evening they became quite boistrous and on three occasions knocked on our bedroom door for a bit of fun after midnight. At 1.30am when we could not stand the racket in the adjacent room any longer, I went straight down to reception and complained, security had to ask the residents to be quiet.
The food was satisfactory, just!
The walk up and down from the hotel was a killer, especially in the heat, although a bus is provided.
We will not be returning to this hotel and would advise anyone who has booked this hotel to contact the hotel and ask to be given a room away from any school parties.

“Dreadful food”

We stayed in this hotel in January and had a most dreadful stay. Whilst the staff were most courteous and friendly and the foyer is quite impressive this is the only thing this hotel has going for it. The rooms were pokey and small, we had to limbo under the sink marble top vanity basin to use the toilet!! How this hotel is rated as a four star is beyond me, we have stayed in better two star accomodations. I felt compelled to write this after reading some of the reviews regarding the food as they must have replaced the chef since our visit!!
During our stay I complained every day about the food - it was either undercooked, overcooked or cold - usually all three!!! I was then duly advised that there was a microwave in which to heat the food, so obviously this was a major problem. Needless to say we did not use the microwave and informed the waiter why!! The salad bar consisted of a few miserable shreads of lettuce and tomato and that was it - salad dressing a few sachets of mayonaise. The dreaded treck up and down the hill leaves something to be desired - a case of watching where you are walking to avoid stepping into something unpleasant - lots of dogs about!! Finally, the entertainments in the hotel were awful. On our last night we could not face the treck down the hill and stayed in. The entertainers were Spanish ballroom dancers!! We had more fun playing chess.
What a nightmare stay I vowed I would never return to this hotel ever again.

“No way on earth is this a 4 star hotel”
After reading several reviews of this hotel on this and other sites I was expecting a good quality 4 star hotel at the top of a small incline. What I actually found was a very average 3 star hotel up a very steep hill. We are neither disabled nor elderly and found the hill to be an absolute nightmare. There is extensive building work at the back of the hotel that starts at 7.50 am everyday except sunday. The work continues all day until about 5 pm. There were no porters to help with our luggage both on our arrival and departure.
There are only 3 small lifts that hold 4 people serving the 9 floors.These lifts are incredibly slow especially during meal times. Expect a long wait if you are on a high floor.
The rooms are ok although the air con is quite noisy. There are no tea or coffee making facilities provided in the rooms. They do provide sachets of shower gel, shampoo although these were only replaced once during the week so take your own. The beds are made and towels changed everyday. The food was ok although they did not cater for children unless you were happy for them to eat chips all the time. We ate out most of the time. You have to buy your drinks at dinner although they provide free drinks at breakfast. The orange Juice is not fresh orange it is orange squash.
I will definately not be staying in this hotel again nor would I recommend it to anybody. It is too far out of town and the hill is a killer. If you are thinking of staying here, think again pay a bit more and stay somewhere more accessible.

“Fantastic Hotel????”
Have just arrived back to old blightey after the most fantastic trip to Benidorm! arrived in the early hours feeling tired yet excited at the prospect of a week away with my sister Any - there was not much of 'a reception' upon our arrival - as this was 4am we didn't create that there was no bell hop to help with our luggage - we struggled to our rooms - threw our bags down and seeked out the 'mini bar' mini being correct - 1 of each of the spirits and 2 small bottles of water - oh well - we thought they would re stock later on that day - after hopefully bringing some clean towels etc... no chance - in the 7 days we were there we only had the rooms 'cleaned' 4 times!! each time having to request 'clean' towels - beware of these- as you are enveloping your sun kissed skin as I found a head of hair on my 'clean' towel and it DEFINATELY WAS NOT MINE!!! YUK - We decided to eat at the hotel restaurant after having too much sun on the 3rd day & felt too weary to head off to the town - admittedley - we were late going to dinner 9.50 but we were assured at reception that this was fine!! upon entering the restaurant we were to fill our plates and be quick about it - we shovelled our 3 courses onto our plates - which was not easy as we had to fish around in the gravy as it had been swamped with chips - lovely me thinks not!! the meal was absolutely revolting - broccoli, sprouts, piped smash and shoe leather - all tasting of nothing! really was the order of the day for our fat fighting mission!! haha - we headed off to the entertainment lounge - comedy were in the house (apparantly) so we thought we were in for a bit of a giggle - people to my right as I was descending the stairs had wonderful smiles on their faces - great stuff?? they were watching footie on the telly!! old time waltzing was in full swing - lovely we thought - one day that will be us ah! ordered a drink which after 10mins did not show - oh well - we headed off to the nightclub - was closed - had a little walk around the hotel and headed back to the room-all in all the whole evening eating, being entertained, ordering a drink that never arrived and having a walk took 30mins - we were back up in our room ready for bed at 10.25 - ooh, how we laughed!!!
I can't understand that the hotel bar shut at midnight - why?? then also room service finishes at midnight too!!! why?????????
All in all we had a fantastic time in Benidorm - it took us back to the good old days when we lived on a big council estate in Battersea - it is a concrete jungle but just make sure when you go take your best friend (as I did - my sister Any as mentioned before) and it really doesn't matter where you are! We can highly recommend the Heartbreak Bar and Daytona's - don't be put off by the bikers - they really are so friendly - it was great to see all the Harley's lined up outside alongside pushchairs!! We did find that there were a lot of stag do's going on - and most of the time we were disgusted at their behaviour - but then we took comfort in the fact that their poor wives were having a well deserved break from their loser husbands!!
I'm sure I sound like a right miserable git - really - i'm not!!
All in all we had a great time - drinks are sooo cheap over there 7euros for 4 vodka and tonics in some bars - and I would recommend Benidorm - not sure if I would recommed the Palm Springs Hotel but then it really is just somewhere to wash that's if you are lucky enough to have clean towels and somewhere to sleep - as long as your not too fussy about clean bedding - ours were not changed the whole time we were there - Any's nailvarnish on her pillow and my dead skin cells were evidence enough!! Apart from 'ALL' that - enjoy yourselves!! :-) :-)

“not what I expected”
On arrival the hotel looked smaller than I imagined. there was a wedding party in the function room so everyone was banished to the disco for the evening. although the hotel has been refurbished it looked tired. Safety deposit boxes were in a special room that required a master key from reception to access, try getting this when they're busy. the dining room was pleasant and the choice of food limited, the food was always cold !. the hotel caters for mainly spanish and french guests, so, if you want a break from the shaven headed tattoo sporting vest wearing brits abroad this is for you. the hotel is at the top of 'cardiac hill' ok going down to town but dreadful when returning. the staff are very pleasant and speak little english which I liked as it gave me the opportunity to try out my Spanish.the nightly entertainment is geared to the locals so we headed off into the town each night. All in all the stay was comfortable but I would not return simply due to the location. there is a large ground clearance project at the rear of the hotel at the moment, the noise is loud but as you will probably be out most days and most evenings it shouldn't really be a problem.. overall I would say, even with the inherent niggles, that it was value for money.

This poor Couple got locked out on the Balcony and Hotel reception done NOTHING to Help!!

I recently stayed at this hotel with my partner and our 10 month old baby. Overall I would say that this hotel is fairly good but possibly not a four star. The food is of good standard, there is plenty of choice and it is always hot and fresh. The all inclusive is not great as it runs 11 - 11 and they are very strict for example breakfast is only allowed in the main restaurant and you can not take food or drink out therefore if you are round the pool in the morning you cannot have a drink or ice cream for children until 11am. They only offer snacks at 11 -12 and 5-6 so if you want something at other times you need to pay.
The beds are not very comfortable so if you have back problems I would not reccomend staying here. I dont have back problems but woke most nights aching!! Also as many people mention there is a hill which leads from the main town to the hotel, we didnt find it too bad however, in the heat pushing our baby in the buggy was hard work! if you have back or walking difficulties it would be a challenge.
Our main issue with this hotel is that the patio doors lock automatically from the outside so do not close your balcony door if you are on the balcony as you cannot get back in. We got stuck on the balcony and our baby was in the room, we had put him down for a sleep and sat outside so that we could see him but wouldn't disturb him. Unfortunately we got locked out there with no way of contacting reception. Eventually a lovely lady two blocks down heard us shouting and tried to help us by contacting reception four times via phone and went to them in person 3 times, they just kept saying ok, and left us there.
In the end our baby woke and was extremely distressed and upset after 45 minutes of waiting for help my partner was forced to smash the patio window to get to our baby. This resulted in a trip to the hospital in an ambulance several stitches and the holiday being ruined. They did move our room but that was it! No apologies, no concern for my partners welfare etc, they knew they were in the wrong as it was obvious from the managers face and we incurred no charges for the damage. I do not want this to happen to anyone else so please if you stay there do not close your balcony door if your on the balcony and put a towel or something down so that the door cannot slam shut if windy.
My partner is lucky to still be with us as he lost a lot of blood and could have severed a main artery, someone else may not be so lucky, so be careful!!!
P.S we paid an extra £100 pound for an upgraded room, they do not exist so don't be fooled by your tour operator!! They do have mini suites on the top floor but they are 40 euros extra per night.
“will not stay here again”
looks very grand from the outside but that is where it ends. Food was average but repeated every other night,nothing to do in day time,and when you are lazing by the pool or on the patio area it would of been nice to have seen a waiter to get a drink but the whole week you had to go to the bar yourself only to find at least 2 staff just chatting. Indoor pool ok but dirty floor area all week, no cash point no drink vending machines,only 2 computers and one was not working and stayed like that all week .Door keys are of the card type and in that one week w had 12 cards changed as they just would not work,and when asking for a replacement at reception we were just asked room number and a card was issued never asked who you were,so basically you could have ot a card for any room. Night entertainment was friday and saterday evenings and didnt start till after 11pm.At weekends it is a hotel for spanish holiday makers and you dont realy seem to be wanted there they are very rude. No good for wheelchairs as passages are to narrow, and lifts are to small.

“hated the place”
this is the worst hotel i ever been to. was told it was on a slight incline when in actual fact it was on a very steep hill. the food was terrible i got raw pork on my only visit to restaurant only to be told to wait & they cook me more ( as if) i paid for full board & ate out after that so it was money wasted. the staff are not helpfull at all. never again.

“nicknamed coronary hill easy to see why .”
enjoyed our stay in benidorm. but some things about hotel palm beach do not merit 4 stars i.e toilet seat too close to washbasin in room 805 .lifts too small and unreliable .staff at reception ignore you if spanish residents are in queue even if you were there first. also there are actually three hills to climb to get to hotel. food was very good . maid service very good .a word of caution about mini bar in room. check all is there before you settle in . our bar was missing vodka and gin bottles were already opened.

“take my advice!!”
I returned home about 3 hours ago and could not wait to write a review on the hotel Palm Beach as it was that bad.
I would not recommend it to any one
It states on many websites that the hotel is on a slight hill. Well its not! There are about 5 steep hills to climb which is not ideal for prams wheelchairs and elderly. We went half board but ended up eating out most of the time as the food was often cold and of a very poor selection. The menu each night did not vary and as for the waiters they were very arrogant.
The rooms were small with barely any walking space. There was a TV stand in our room but no TV on it. The bathroom was cramped up. We had to sit on the toilet side ways otherwise our knees would be touching the underneath of the sink. The door of the bathroom was rotted which was turning half of the door green. It was not all that clean either as on the 3rd day we noticed the floor was not getting mopped so we but a blob of sun cream by the patio door to see if it would get mopped up an when we left on our 10th day it was still there, that proves they don’t clean that well.
The hotel was full of Spanish and all the entertainment was in Spanish, not like you need entertainment in Benidorm. The staff were all for the Spanish clearing there plates from there tables and leaving ours which was quite annoying. I may sound fussy when you read this but am not I just think the hotel you stay at makes your holiday and it really did put a downer on ours.
Please take my advice and do not stay there you will only end up regretting it!!

“Dispicable!Absolutly disgusted!”
When i booked up to come to this hotel with my daughter and teenage grand-daughter, i expected a four star luxury hotel as promised. When we arrived our room was three hours late in being ready..we checked in on time but were told to return three hours later when our room would be ready, upon return, it still wasn't ready and we were given an alternate room.This room was cramped, dirty and smelly. Our balcony had roof tiles on the floor! There were huge crowds of rowdy teenagers at the entrance of the hotel and in the foyer, and the corridors,they were absolutly disgusting. There were sick stains splattered everywhere on the carpet and were very narrow. The windows in the corridors were all covered with dirty yellow blinds which allowed no light into the hallway, and made it seem even smaller. When walking along the narrow, smelly corridor it felt as though we were on a boat. Our "neighbours" were a group of teenagers on a hen night, taking men into their room at all hours and knocking on the door as a way of entertainment. The weather in April was freezing, of course this is no fault of the hotel's, but, the distance away from the local town, is! And in cold weather, this is not a nice walk.
To anyone who is considering making a booking to The Palm Beach Hotel; it's noisy, dirty, smelly, out of the way and there is a waiting of five hours from breakfast untill lunch, there are no poolside bars, and no outdoor entertainment, and the children's club isn't actually open....in the off peak months....whicjh it does not inform you off. I have been to many four and five star hotels and this hotel, i would rate as a two star, if it's lucky.

We got stuck on the balcony and our baby was in the room, we had put him down for a sleep and sat outside so that we could see him but wouldn't disturb him. Unfortunately we got locked out there with no way of contacting reception. Eventually a lovely lady two blocks down heard us shouting and tried to help us by contacting reception four times via phone and went to them in person 3 times, they just kept saying ok, and left us there.
In the end our baby woke and was extremely distressed and upset after 45 minutes of waiting for help my partner was forced to smash the patio window to get to our baby. This resulted in a trip to the hospital in an ambulance several stitches and the holiday being ruined. They did move our room but that was it! No apologies, no concern for my partners welfare etc, they knew they were in the wrong as it was obvious from the managers face and we incurred no charges for the damage. I do not want this to happen to anyone else so please if you stay there do not close your balcony door if your on the balcony and put a towel or something down so that the door cannot slam shut if windy.
My partner is lucky to still be with us as he lost a lot of blood and could have severed a main artery, someone else may not be so lucky, so be careful!!!
P.S we paid an extra £100 pound for an upgraded room, they do not exist so don't be fooled by your tour operator!! They do have mini suites on the top floor but they are 40 euros extra per night.

"Tolo" on reception put the phone down on me and would not disclose his full name, he then would not answer the phone! I called back 6 times and they would not pick up the phone. Terrible service & they stole my Blackberry!!!!
